Terms of use

Using Memento Mori
By downloading or using Memento Mori you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Memento Mori is for personal use. Please don’t reverse engineer, resell or redistribute it.
Memento Mori Pro
Pro is optional. It comes as a monthly or a yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase, and unlocks unlimited people, milestones and open vows, the Pro milestone presets, search across your journal and the full quote library. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
Subscriptions are charged to your Apple ID and renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. If a free trial is shown for a plan, it becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before, and any unused part of a trial ends when you subscribe. You can manage or cancel in your iPhone’s Settings under your name and Subscriptions. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. The lifetime purchase is paid once and never renews.
Refunds
Apple processes all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Not advice
Memento Mori is a tool for reflection. The life expectancy, the week count, the lifestyle estimate, the tail-end figures and time accounting come from broad averages and from what you enter. They are not medical, financial or psychological advice, and they don’t predict how long you or anyone else will live. Please don’t base health, money or end-of-life decisions on them. Ask a qualified professional.
If thinking about time and death weighs on you, talk to someone you trust or to a professional.
Your entries
What you write in Memento Mori is yours. I have no copy of it. Storage and sync can fail, so if your journal matters to you, export it from time to time.
No warranty
Memento Mori is provided as it is. I work to keep it correct and running, but can’t promise it will always be free of errors.
Liability
As far as the law allows, I’m not liable for indirect or consequential damages from using the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence.
Changes
I may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top.
