Terms of use

Using RecipeScale

By downloading or using RecipeScale you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. RecipeScale is for personal use. Please don’t reverse engineer, resell or redistribute it.

RecipeScale Pro

Pro is optional. It removes the limit of 10 saved recipes and lets you export your recipe list as a CSV file. It comes as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. The price is shown in the app before you buy and is charged to your Apple ID.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. If the yearly plan comes with a free trial, the purchase screen shows it and the price that follows. You pay when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before, and any unused part of a trial ends when you subscribe. Lifetime is a single payment and never renews. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your iPhone’s Settings under your name and Subscriptions.

In versions before 1.0.1, the purchase screen also lists URL import and photos. Neither is available, so please don’t buy Pro for them.

Refunds

Apple processes all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your recipes

The recipes you paste or save are yours. RecipeScale stores them on your device and, while sync is on, in your own iCloud.

Cooking with scaled recipes

RecipeScale does the arithmetic. It doesn’t know your pan, your oven or your ingredients. A scaled batch, especially in baking, can behave differently and may need another pan size, temperature or time. The tips for leaveners and spices are rules of thumb. Check that each line was read correctly, check doneness yourself and follow food safety guidance, especially for meat, eggs and food for people with allergies.

No warranty

RecipeScale is provided as it is. I work to keep it correct and running, but can’t promise it will always be free of errors.

Liability

As far as the law allows, I’m not liable for indirect or consequential damages from using the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence.

Changes

I may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top.
