What’s in it
Classic
One player holds the phone on their forehead. The others explain, act and hint. Tap the screen with your right hand when you got it, with your left to pass, or switch to tilting in Settings. The phone buzzes for every answer, so the guesser always knows.
Fishbowl
One bowl of words, played three times: first describe it, then one single word, then mime it. Fill the bowl from one or more decks or let everyone type in secret words.
Words for where you live
12 decks with 150 words each in 14 languages, written for each country: the films, shows, famous people and food people there know, not a translated list. Pick several decks to mix them.
For any group
2 to 6 teams, rounds of 30 seconds to 2 minutes, scores kept for you. It works offline, with no account and no sign-up.

Help
How do I play Classic?
Pick one or more decks and tap Play. Hand the phone to the first guesser, who holds it on their forehead with the screen facing the team and taps it once to start. The team explains, acts and hints; tap with your right hand when you got the word, with your left to pass. When the time is up, the next team plays.
Can I tilt instead of tapping?
Yes: open Settings and set Answer by to Tilting. Hold the phone sideways (landscape) on your forehead, screen facing away from you, and nod clearly down for got it or up to pass, holding it there for a moment. Come back to upright between two words. Test tilt in Settings shows whether your phone reports the movement.
How does Fishbowl work?
All teams share one bowl of words. Round 1: describe the word without saying it. Round 2: just one word as a clue. Round 3: act it out without words. A guessed word leaves the bowl until the round ends; then the bowl is full again for the next round. The team with the most words after three rounds wins.
How do I get Plus back on a new iPhone?
Open Settings in Charado and tap Restore purchases. Plus belongs to your Apple ID, so sign in with the one you bought it with.
How do I cancel Plus?
In Charado, open Settings and tap Manage subscription. Or open your iPhone’s Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions and Charado. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date and you won’t be charged again. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. Lifetime never renews.
Which languages does Charado speak?
English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Ukrainian. Charado follows your iPhone’s language; you can switch it in Settings. English has its own words for the US and the UK, Spanish for Spain and for Latin America.
How do I report a bug or suggest a word?
Email me with your iOS version, the Charado version (at the bottom of Settings) and what happened. Words you’d love to see in a deck are welcome too.
Questions, bugs or word ideas go straight to me.
