Distance
What’s in it
Trip cost
Type in the distance and see what the fuel costs, worked out from your car’s fuel economy and the price you pay. Round trip doubles it.
Split the cost
Add the people in the car, up to ten, and see what each person pays.
Commute cost
For a round trip, pick how many days a week you drive it. FuelPilot shows what that adds up to per week, month and year.
Saved trips
Save the drives you make often, like work or the airport, and see what each one costs at your current price. Five are free, more with Pro.
Your cars
Add a car with its fuel type and fuel economy, and the calculator uses it. One car is free, more with Pro. From 1.0.2 on, you can edit a car later.
Fuel log Pro
Write down each fill-up with the amount, the price and the odometer, and see what you’ve spent in total. From 1.0.2 on, you can edit a fill-up, and your log stays readable if Pro ends.
US and metric
Miles or kilometers. US gallons, UK gallons or liters. MPG, L/100 km or km/L. Ten currencies. From 1.0.2 on, your numbers convert when you switch, and you can type decimals with a comma.
iCloud sync
Your cars, fill-ups and saved trips reach your other devices through your own iCloud. Free for everyone.
Help
How do I get Pro back on a new iPhone?
Open FuelPilot and tap the gear at the top right to open Settings. Tap the FuelPilot Pro banner at the top, then Restore purchases near the bottom of the sheet that opens. Pro belongs to your Apple ID, so sign in with the one you bought it with.
How do I cancel Pro?
On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then FuelPilot. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date and you won’t be charged again. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so there is nothing to cancel.
How do I delete my data, including iCloud?
From 1.0.2 on, Clear all data in FuelPilot’s Settings removes your cars, fill-ups, saved trips, settings and the last numbers in the calculator from this iPhone. With iCloud sync on, it also clears them in iCloud, and your other devices with 1.0.2 or later drop the same cars, fill-ups and saved trips on their next sync.
In 1.0.1, Clear all data removes only your cars, fill-ups and settings from this iPhone. It keeps your saved trips, and it doesn’t touch the copy in iCloud. With iCloud sync on, the cleared data comes straight back from iCloud. To remove everything, delete FuelPilot from each of your devices. Then, on your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, Manage Account Storage, FuelPilot, and delete the data there.
How do I switch between miles and kilometers?
Tap the units button next to the gear at the top of the app, or open Settings and tap Units & currency. Distance, fuel volume, fuel economy and currency are set one by one, so you can mix them, like miles with liters in the UK. FuelPilot starts with the units and currency of your region. From 1.0.2 on, it also starts with an everyday car’s fuel economy and a typical fuel price in your currency.
From 1.0.2 on, the distance, fuel economy and price convert when you switch units, so the trip cost stays the same. Changing the currency only changes the symbol, so check the price after that.
In 1.0.1, numbers you already typed in don’t convert on their own. After switching, check the distance and the price, and pick your car again so its fuel economy shows in the new unit.
Something doesn’t work.
Email me what you did right before it happened, your iOS version and the FuelPilot version. You find the version on your iPhone under Settings, General, iPhone Storage, FuelPilot. A screenshot helps a lot.
